Rihanna – We Found Love
By: JR De Los Reyes
This video is amazing! The awesome visuals were released on Wednesday and it’s clear to see that Rihanna takes her bad-girl image to a place filled with sex, drugs, love, and heartbreak.
The music video makes a lot of references to pop culture. It compares love to a drug, simply because love is a drug. Both can lift spirits and take the users to an unimaginable place that is magical and euphoric. Yet both can be overused and uncontrolled.
Love is a drug. It can suck you into its world and take one taste into an addiction instantly. As seen in the video, love can be harmful and dangerous. Drugs are used as an analogy in the music video to depict the fact that all good things come to an end…and when that ending comes you can either take control or be a victim.
“It’s like screaming and no one can hear…you almost feel ashamed..that someone could be that important..that without them you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless….like nothing can save you..and when its over and it’s gone you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back so that you can have the good.”
