Check out this great article on Forbes that expose the three true job interview questions:

“The only three true job interview questions are:

1. Can you do the job?
2. Will you love the job?
3. Can we tolerate working with you?

That’s it. Those three. Think back, every question you’ve ever posed to others or had asked of you in a job interview is a subset of a deeper in-depth follow-up to one of these three key questions. Each question potentially may be asked using different words, but every question, however it is phrased, is just a variation on one of these topics: Strengths, Motivation, and Fit.”

Read the rest at Forbes

I’ve always been an Asher Roth fan. Luckily, I had the pleasure to check out these nice visuals and enjoy this Native Tongue-esque beat. For those of you whom are unfamiliar with what Native Tongue represents a eclectic sampling and jazz feel to the music. Some Native Tongue artists you may be familiar with are A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, and Common. Enjoy Asher’s awesome performance from the street.

I really enjoy covers and somehow came across Njomza‘s cover of Missed Calls by Mac Miller. She actually has a good amount of covers, but no real mic to improve the sound quality of her performance. All in all, it’s still a great live performance and I like the approach of the song. Check out the video and be sure to browse through her videos. Who knows, maybe we can eventually highlight her on Pilots Cabin.

TreeJTV and Mac Miller present a trailer for his upcoming music video entitled Missed Calls. His track is featured on his latest album “Blue Slide Park” which featured a variety of different styles of music. Mac Miller puts together a decent album, with a handful of jams. Unfortunately I felt a lot of the music was outside of Mac’s element, in the end he did squeeze out a nice masterpiece from Missed Calls. If you haven’t heard the song, be sure to give it a listen.

Via: New York Times

“Jimmer Fredette, the rookie guard for the Sacramento Kings, and Jeremy Linhave a bit in common as N.B.A. anomalies. One was undrafted out of Harvard. The other, though a college star, received mixed reviews from N.B.A. scouts.

Much as the name Lin has become fodder for many puns, the name Jimmer became a verb during Fredette’s standout senior season at Brigham Young. Linsanity reminds some of Jimmermania, and both have been praised by President Obama and Steve Nash.

“He feels like Jimmer in college,” Kings guard Tyreke Evans said of Lin.

But Lin is a continuing phenomenon, while Fredette’s flame has faded thus far in the pros. All of this was evident in the Knicks’ 100-85 romp over the Kings on Wednesday. Aside from committing three turnovers in a 73-second stretch of the third quarter, a pass-happy Lin was excellent (10 points, 13 assists), while Fredette (8 points) made a minimal impact in his Madison Square Garden debut.

“He played really well tonight,” Fredette said of Lin.

Asked if he could relate to Lin’s rapid rise in popularity, Fredette said: “A little bit. His is on a greater scale, being in New York City and everything. His life probably changed really quickly. I know what that’s like a little bit, and he’s doing a great job with it, keeping a level head.”

Kings Coach Keith Smart has experience with both players: Lin played for him in his rookie season in Golden State.

“I’m happy, I’m thrilled for him,” Smart said. “I’m just so excited for the young man, because you know how hard he’s worked and everything he’s done to be in the position.”

The whiteboard in the Kings’ locker room advised the team to force Lin left. It hardly mattered. He threw four first-half alley-oops, perhaps one for every general manager who considered signing him this season before electing to pass.

“It’s good Monday morning quarterbacks are here now,” Smart said. “But no one could have predicted this guy being this big in this place here.”

Smart was the interim coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers the year before they drafted LeBron James. “We knew LeBron was going to be big, you knew that,” Smart said. “This guy just showed up and just has transcended the world. I mean, this guy is all around the world. I have friends in the Philippines texting me about Jeremy Lin. You can’t explain it.”

With the Knicks leading by 16 as time wound down in the first half and the crowd on its feet, Lin penetrated and found Tyson Chandler for a dunk, giving Lin his ninth first-half assist.

Smart called Lin’s ascent “the perfect storm, so to speak,” and said he had fond memories of coaching him.

“I’d look out my office sometimes, early in the morning, and there this kid was — just finished his breakfast and on the floor already working,” he said. “So he’s a definite leader. He has a personality that’s infectious, that people want to be around him.”

Smart remembers the hoopla over Lin even last year.

“Undrafted free agent that has a press conference bigger than our draft pick last year,” Smart said. “But what his deal was, he was like, ‘Coach, I don’t like all this stuff.’ I said: ‘Listen, Jeremy. Your N.B.A. career is going to be 5 years, 10 years, maybe more, maybe less. Embrace this right here. Embrace this moment because once it’s gone, it’s gone.’ ”

Wednesday’s game was something of a homecoming for Fredette, who is a native of Glen Falls, N.Y., and grew up a Knicks fan. With the Knicks up big from the start, Jimmermania was relegated to a sideshow. Fredette played more than 20 minutes for the first time in six games, but a made 3-pointer that would have given him more points than Lin was nullified after a review.

“The process for him is developing and becoming a good player for the long haul,” Smart said.

Running around imaginary screens and missing his fair share of midrange jumpers before the game, the baby-faced Fredette looked sort of like a kid who won a contest to play on the Garden’s hallowed hardwood.

And he seemed like an afterthought. As Fredette shot, Lin signed autographs at midcourt and the Jumbotron above showed various Knicks praising their once unsung teammate”

By Jake Appleman – New York Times

“I Will Always Love You, Whitney Houston’s biggest hit, sold 195,000 downloads in the week ending Sunday, up from 3,000 copies the week before, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Presumably, most were sold after the singer’s death Saturday afternoon, a sales window of one day.

Reports of Whitney Houston’s death surfaced Saturday afternoon. By Sunday, fans had purchased 887,000 digital tracks by the pop superstar.

Always makes its debut on the digital songs chart at No. 6, according to Billboard, which also notes seven other Houston tunes that landed on the list: I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) at No. 25 (74,000), Greatest Love of All at No. 32 (60,000), How Will I Know at No. 46 (43,000), I Have Nothing at No. 53 (38,000), Saving All My Love for You at No. 65 (33,000), One Moment in Time at No. 74 (30,000) and The Star Spangled Banner at No. 75 (29,000).

Postmortem sales of the diva’s other songs and albums also surged. She sold a total of 101,000 albums, up nearly 6,000% from a week earlier. Of those, 91,000 were downloads. The top seller was Whitney: The Greatest Hits, an 18-track set released in 2000. It sold 64,000 copies, 107 times the 600 copies sold the week prior, to re-enter Billboard at No. 6.

Fans bought 887,000 digital tracks by Houston, compared to 15,000 the week before.

Consumers scooped up more Houston albums last week than in all the preceding weeks of 2012 and all of 2011 combined, Billboard reports. A higher tally is expected after sales from a full week (ending Feb. 19) are tabulated.”
